Daniel Boone’s Autograph:

While travelling down the Mississippi, we stopped our boats in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri. A cool little, french colonial town just south of St. Louis.

This was where I met Daniel Boone.

I was drinking at a bar in town, with maybe four people in it. One of whom was celebrating a birthday with Jeiger shots. He generously bought a round for everyone, including myself sitting across the room. Thus, I was now invited into the conversation with these few locals. The birthday boy, Daniel, was a trucker. He carried on some form of a relationship with an older woman (also in attendance) who may or may not dabble in meth. After learning the rules of the road, which truck stops not to go to to shower (Pilot truck stops are bad and Flying J’s are good, in case you ever are in need of a shower), and a few tales of local people who have died on or in the river, I learned that this drunk man was in fact Daniel Boone.
He claims to be a direct descendant of the legendary pioneer. And he wanted to prove it to me. He tore of a piece of coaster, signed it and said to put it in my wallet until I can get on the internet and compare it to the original Boone signature. This was what he gave me:

Well, today my friends, I will offer a comparison to the original Daniel Boone. Drum roll…

If that’s not hard scientific proof of a man’s genetic make-up, I don’t know what is.
