Archives: Objects Around My House. Part 1.

From the archives:

I went to San Diego and stayed in a hotel for a week, for work. Somehow, upon my return, I find this in my posessions. I assume it is a name tag from a hotel employee.

Curious, I began a little research…
She exists on MySpace: leah; 26 years old; San Diego, CA; no picture; one friend: Tom; single; pisces; doesn’t smoke; doesn’t drink.

So I turn the search over to google. I find this:

So, apart from being an employee of Omni Hotel, she is also an aspiring photographer, an inexpensive one at that. Unfortunately, her craigslist ads were old and no longer available for viewing.

All other searches led nowhere. Oh well.

****UPDATE****

So I decided to give our elusive friend another search…

Success.

Her craigslist ad was re-posted, so I was able to read it:

What’s this? A link to her website? A website that has a bio on it? Sweet.

Well, the mysterious Omni Hotel employee from San Diego, whose name tag somehow found its way into my belongings and now sits amongst the clutter of my desk, in my house, in Los Angeles, now has a face:

She was married in May 2005 to Spencer. She persues wedding photography as a career, and seems to be very sentimental about the act of marriage.

Well. I am satisfied. The curiosity has been quenched. I can put the name tag in the drawer of stuff and be happy knowing where it came from, and a bit more.

If she ever sees this, I hope she sees the humor in it and doesn’t send that, seemingly angry and macho Spencer, to kick my ass.

Check back as I research and regail in other tales of: “Objects Around My House”
