I understand that they’re (hopefully) referencing the comic series and not the condescending blockbuster film. But nevertheless, drop it. The potency of the image that was played out for you on a big screen has been diluted into triteness. Any twinge of social responsibility that could call on me to act is immediately put to bed every time I see this mask, simply out of a fear of association. Please create an image or symbol that wasn’t sold to you and keep the money you gave to the halloween-store… or at least get some fake mustaches instead, because those are effectively hilarious in any situation. Harumph.
